Using any yarn imaginable, you can knit a purse, tote, or bag
and line it without a sewing machine or felting. Learn to use
fusible adhesives, ready-made canvas totes, quilting fabrics,
and fabric glues to accomplish this. Examples of zipped,
buttoned, snapped, tied and flapped closures will be
displayed. Turn a skein of fancy novelty yarn into an eye-
catching purse you will love. You will complete a purse in class.
(Small materials fee: $2.00 for adhesives, students will bring
their own fabric and knit swatches)

Make sleeves that fit by working them from the shoulder down
toward the wrist. Lorna will cover drop shoulder, modified drop
and set-in sleeves, with more time devoted to set-in sleeves.
Seam options including no-sew, crocheted and picked-up
methods will also be covered. These techniques will enable
you to add sleeves to any vest or shell pattern you have.

This is the perfect class for the beginner who has knit enough
scarves to want to learn more. Cast on, knit and purl are the
only prerequisites. Students will choose yarns with Lorna's
help (if taught in a shop), or be given specific yarn
requirements ahead (if taught for a guild or conference).
Gauge swatch, casting on and knitting in the round, increases
and counting rows will be some of the steps for an easy,
square poncho.

Another poncho class for beginners or knitters who want to
venture into creative knitting. This poncho is knit as a large
rectangle, then folded and sewn strategically to make a
beautiful asymmetrical poncho. Almost any yarn can be used
but a dk or light worsted is best. Novelty yarns, beads and
fancy pattern stitches can jazz it up even more. Bring 450
yards of your poncho yarn and other various novelty yarns as
desired in any amount. In class we'll knit together a miniature
version of the poncho, in a size that fits an American Girl doll
or similar toy. All of the design elements can be tried on this
small poncho and then you can make the full size poncho on
your own with confidence!
